Youngtown started in the year 1954 when banker Clarence Suggs and broker Ben Schleifer purchased over 320 acres of cotton farmland. It was at this point these two formed Youngtown Land and Investment Co, and started the first adult community ever built that was exclusive to only retirees. In the 1960’s the great city of Youngtown was finally incorporated was the first city ever occupied only by senior citizens, in the year 1998 the age restriction for the community was abolished and allowed all ages to reside within Youngtown. The community of Youngtown provides its residents with a unique small town feel while still providing a library, clubhouse, a lake and five beautiful parks. As of the year 2006 the population of Youngtown was calculated to be roughly 4,000 and the population of the community is even stronger.
